“What news would you bring of voices in the sky?”
– The Moody Blues

Greetings! Are you inspired? Do you have a song to sing?
I believe we all do. I believe we all have a creative spirit within us.
I believe it is important for each of us to seek to express ourselves creatively.
“I'm going to sing my song,
And sing it all day long,
A song that never ends.
How can I tell you
All the things inside my head?”
from My Song by The Moody Blues

Why “Voices in the Sky?"
If I had nothing to listen to but the Moody Blues the rest of my life, it would be a very good life indeed. The simple power of their lyrics accompanied by the soaring orchestral sounds perfectly mixed with rock instruments is alchemical and has always driven my imagination and spirit.
When I began to seriously approach my writing craft, I found myself weaving snippets of their lyrics and concepts into little corners of my humble tales. Each line and lyric of their earlier albums can spark a plethora of ideas for stories.
Not only the Moody Blues spark my imagination, yet they seem to carry a consistent purity and progressive attitude that I strive for in most of my writing. Others reach to the same or similar plane of spirituality. George Harrison comes to mind, but there is often a sadness or melancholy to George’s art.
The Moody Blues have been a long standing source of inspiration and I humbly offer them my gratitude.
We all draw inspiration from various sources. My expression takes the form of stories and tales. Yours may take a different form. I waited a long time to begin to be serious about my craft. I recommend that you start now, where you are at this moment. In the Lord of the Rings, Gandalf tells Frodo, “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”
